XLS Medical Carb Blocker review

[starratingmulti id=1 tpl=12]

XLS Medical Carb Blocker is an over the counter weight loss supplement that has been designed to assist people who are following a reduced carbohydrate diet to be able to stick to their strategy without giving up all of their favorite foods. The official product website describes this diet pill as a “a specialized weight loss product for overweight and obese persons.” More specifically, it is meant for those whose weight gain is the result of eating too many high carb foods, such as white bread, regular pasta, cakes, sweet treats, and so on.

The claim is that XLS Medical Carb Blocker will help the dieter to be able to block the body from being able to absorb some of the carbohydrates that are being consumed in food so that the dieter will be able to achieve faster and easier weight loss without having to completely eliminate all of those high carb foods.

The manufacturer has based all of these powerful claims on the one active ingredient that is contained within this product. That substance is called PhaseLite. It is described in a relatively vague way on the official website, but what could be understood at the time that this review was written was that it is extracted from a vegetable source that is GM-free, and that it is some form of concentrated glycoprotein. The manufacturer (Omega Pharma) states that this substance acts in the body to reduce the function of an enzyme called Alpha-Amylase. That enzyme is an essential component of the digestion and breakdown of carbohydrates that are consumed in food. When its function has been hindered, the idea is that it will stop the body from being able to absorb all of those carbs, thereby reducing the calories that result from having eaten them in the first place. The undigested carbs then make their way through the body with the rest of the waste, at which time they are expelled.

The website also claims that this substance may also assist in controlling blood sugar levels, which is an important way to keep hunger cravings – particularly for sweets – under control.

If that process does work, it has the potential to be very helpful to many dieters who enjoy their carbs and whose love for those foods has caused them to gain the weight and struggle to be able to lose it. However, there is no reputable research to prove that this (or any other carb blocker, for that matter) will function effectively enough to actually produce weight loss. Even if the ingredient in XLS Medical Carb Blocker did work as the manufacturer states, medical study has never been able to prove that it blocks enough carbohydrates to lose enough weight that a dieter would notice any difference on a scale.
