Shakeology Diet Shake

Shakeology is a diet product that comes in the form of a meal replacement shake. This weight loss product is manufactured by Beachbody LLC, which also manufactures a number of other very well known products in this category, including the Slim in 6 diet program, the Tony Horton’s P90x fitness program, and Shaun T’s INSANITY.

The claim of the manufacturer regarding Shakeology’s effects is that it replaces a meal and contains only 140 calories, while reducing food cravings, encouraging weight loss, and helping a dieter to be able to lean muscle mass. The official website also says that its use will help to boost energy levels and enhance digestion.

At the time that this review was conducted, there were six different flavors: chocolate, vegan chocolate, greenberry, strawberry, tropical strawberry vegan, and vanilla. They are available in 24 individual serving packets or in a re-sealable bag that contains 30 servings. Both of those formats cost $129.99, making it obvious that the cheaper route would be to purchase the bulk bag instead of the individual servings. Either way, that is a very high price to pay for a one month supply of the product.

There is an official website for this product, but it does not cite any studies or scientific evidence that suggests that using this product will be able to encourage the types of results that they claim will occur through the use of this product.

The concept behind using Shakeology is essentially to make it easy to replace a higher calorie meal with a lower calorie shake that is designed to make you feel full. Looking into the nutrients in this product, it is likely that this product uses protein (primarily from 90 percent whey protein isolate) to help to encourage a feeling of fullness that will last for a certain length of time. Protein can also be found in the quinoa grain in its ingredients. This ingredient contains twice the protein level of white rice and three times more than couscous. Energy levels may be increased through the traditional energy booster called Chia.

The official website for the product recommends that its use be combined with the adoption of a healthy lifestyle that includes regular activity as well as a balanced nutritious diet. It specifically states that best results are achieved with three days of training every week.

Overall, it doesn’t look like this product would do any harm to a diet, but it is entirely up to the dieter whether or not they can make this work. Should they lose the weight, the dieter may not be prepared to keep it off through the use of this product.
